Jorginho explained that his initial statement was made in the heat of the moment after seeing a security guard approach his 11-year-old daughter and his wife in an intimidating manner. He was only trying to protect his family from what he considered an act of violence. In his account, he explained that he communicated with the singer's team, who confirmed that Roan had no involvement in the incident: 'It became clear that she had no knowledge of what happened at breakfast. But I also know how to recognize when things are not what they seem at first.' The footballer stated that for him, the matter is now closed. According to Argentine News Agency, the player was subjected to weeks of harassment on social media by the singer's fans, with hundreds of comments on all his posts demanding that he apologize to the artist. In response, the footballist was firm: 'I want to make one thing very clear: I do not support or encourage hate speech or online attacks of any kind.' He added that the singer was understanding and sympathized with what happened to his daughter. The security guard himself has publicly confirmed that at that time he was representing another artist at the hotel. Finally, Jorginho apologized to the singer for the impact this situation has had on her: 'Ultimately, it was a misunderstanding in that sense, and I'm glad to clarify things. I regret the impact this situation has had on Chappell Roan, Catherine, Ada, and our family.'
